Press statement refuting false immigration Office Assistant grade (M) vacancy advert

The national public relations officer for Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services Joseph Chauwa has refuted that the Immigration Office Assistant vacancy advert circulating on Social Media and wishes to inform the general public that no such adverts have been formally released. 

In the past 24 hours different individuals have been contacted by fraudster parading as Immigration staff asking applicants to send an amount of 20,000 Malawi Kwacha in order to secure the position. The Department wishes to accentuate that no vacancy application requires fee for one to be employed, therefore, the Department wishes to warn the public to be alert and vigilant for such fraud tricksters.

The Department wishes to emphasize that all persons that come across such adverts should verify its validity through the right mediums before spreading. 

The Department counts on the co-operation of every citizen in order to fight such fraud.
