Flames Romanian tactician Marian Mario Marinica has said he is monitoring Malawian footballers in the diaspora for possible inclusion in the national team.
Speaking to the Malawi nation newspaper, the Flames mentor said he is monitoring over 30 players in different countries.
“I have been monitoring these players for a while now. We have over 30 players who have roots in Malawi,” he said
According to the coach, some of the players re based in England, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Belgium among others.
Kelvin kalua is one of the targeted players. He plays for Eastern Suburbs in New Zealand.
Efforts to involve Malawian footballers in the diaspora have been hitting a snag in the past years due to the anti-dual citizenship laws.
