In Blantyre minibus operators are on strike, barely a week after Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) announced the increase in pump fuel price.

One of the passengers who was waiting for transport at Kanjedza stage to go to work in Blantyre town said she had no hope that she would go to work today because minibus operators are even refusing personal cars to carry a passenger in such cars and this means even businesses are affected today.
One of the minibus operators said they want government to increase fuel price or increase the seating capacity one of them will satisfy what they want.
