HRDC has expressed concerns and strongly condemned police officers who are physically harrasing Malawian citizens found not wearing face masks.
HRDC national chairperson Gift Trapence and national coordinator Luke Tembo issued a statement reminding the police that Malawi is not a police state but a democratic country with laws that have to be followed and human rights that have to be respected.
The grouping has since requested Inspector General of police to discipline officers who are torturing Malawians while doing their work.
