It never rains but pours for the Mutharika family as government through Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has sealed their radio station, Galaxy FM.
The media house which is situated in the capital Lilongwe has been closed for airing an anti-government advert.
The advert which mobilises people to participate in demonstrations that have been organised by Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative (CIDED) and small scale business owners, heavily attacks Chakwera’s administration.
“Boma ili laoneselatu kuti ndi akathyali, aphyuta akufuna azilamulira boma li mwa ukhuluku nde ife sitilora” (This administration is full of vampires who want to be ruling in their crooked way but we are not going to accept this)
The audio also features part of Vice President Saulos Chilima’s past campaign speech. The deputy leader’s speech has been contextualised to suit the demonstrators needs.
