Flames striker Richard Mbulu has began his DSTV Premier Soccer League campaign in South Africa on an impressive note.
After scoring in the league opener against Maritziburg over the weekend, the Malawian was once again on target for Baroka FC last night, not once but twice. His goals helped his side record a comfortable 3-1 victory against Black Leopards.
Following his impressive show, Mbulu was honoured as man of the match. The striker now has 3 goals in 2 games.
Speaking in an interview after the game, the Flames hitman expressed his excitement. He said adherence to his coach’s instructions has been his secret.
The former MAFCO FC player added that he applies his millitary tactics in football. Some of the tactics he cited are endurance and strength.
Richard had tough time in the previous season as he played over 20 games without a goal. His performance became an issue of concern among Malawians. They are now praying that he should not forget his scoring boots on national team duty.
The Flames are expected to play Burkina Faso in back to back games later this month in African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Richard is among regular players for the national team.
