Malawian football exports to South Africa are gearing up for resumption of South African Premier Soccer League in the following week after a four months hiatus.

The league’s management made the announcement regarding resumption of football late last week. The PSL administration said football activities will be resumed only to conclude competitions that were put to a halt.

Malawi has a number of soccer stars who are plying their trade in South Africa’s top flight league; Orlando Pirates Ace Gabadinho Mhango, Limbikani Mzava of Highlands Park, Denis Chembezi of Polokwane City and the Baroka FC duo of Gerald Phiri Junior and Richard Mbulu.

The PSL is set to resume on 11th August. Malawian super striker Gabadinho Mhango is expected to continue from where he stopped in as far as scoring goals is concerned. He is leading the scorers chart with 14 goals.

His side, Orlando Pirates, is sitting 4th in the 16 team league after 23 games. The Malawian lad has helped his side amass 40points, 8 behind league leaders who happen to be their bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
