It was another afternoon to forget for title contenders Big Bullets as they went down to Mighty Wanderers in one of Super League deciding games.
The Lali Lubani boys managed to triumph over their traditional rivals, thanks to a Vincent Nyangulu strike towards the end of the first half.
The people’s team started with three strikers, Chiukepo Msowoya, Babatunde Adepoju and Hassan Kajoke. But it was not a productive day for the trio as they were contained by Nomads defence.
Wanderers enjoyed a lion’s share of ball possession no wonder they grabbed the last laugh. The blue camp produced the man of the match in the name of Yamikani Chester.
The result means the gap between the red army and the second placed Silver Strikers has been narrowed to a point. After 28 games, Bullets have 56 points whereas Silver have 55 points from the same number of games.
Wanderers have a chance to be crowned champions should they claim maximum points in the remaining three assignments if and only if the teams above them record negative results. From 27 games, they have managed to amass 51 points, five behind the league leaders.
