The upcoming young Malawian artist Lissa Mikana who is currently residing in the United Kingdom has released a single called Ndinaiwala.
Speaking to Low Profile Malawi, Lissa said that, “I started singing from a pretty young age, I was about ten if I remember correctly.” She further explained that it was her late uncle who actually is the one that introduced her to music. “We mostly would listen to music together, listened to alot of R&B and sang along together so it was one of those moments when I realised I could actually sing.”
Lissa also grew up singing in church. “I was in a church choir for a while, so music has had a really huge impact on my life.”
This summer she thought to give it a go and managed to release this great single “Ndinaiwala”. With great help from family and friends, the song was successfuly produced.
She further explained that she is much into Afrobeats, Pop and R&B and she will mainly be trying to incorporate these genres into her music. Lissa is currently working on her next song and should be coming out soon.
“I’ll also be looking into collaborating with other musicians as well and the main goal is to mostly just enjoy what I am doing and make music that people can relate to.”
She is very thankful for the following that she has been getting since the release of the song as people have been showing love and she greatly appreciate this positivity from the general public.
