Malawian musician and recipient of the 2019 Young African Politician of the Year award Tay Grin has appealed to the youths to be innovative in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Joining President Lazarus Chakwera in the dissemination of Covid-19 Public Service Announcements, Grin has made the call.
The award winning artist has encouraged the youth to utilize digital platforms to provide services to people in need, in this period of the pandemic.
“My plea to you especially young people out there is to stay innovative, everything is going digital, use those platforms to provide services, help other people in need,” said Tay Grin.
As a way of leading by example, Tay hosts an online entertainment show called Grin`s Fire Friday. Apart from entertainment, the virtual event is also used as a platform for mobilizing resources for fighting Covid-19.
Furthermore, the Nyau King as Grin is fondly known, has encouraged people to continue following the prescribed preventive measures.
The musician is among a few public figures that have joined the president in sensitizing people about the deadly virus. Others are Malawi`s army chief General Vincent Nundwe, human rights activist Habiba Osman, and another musician Faith Mussa.
