Malawi small and medium businesses – delighted with the easing of lockdown

Majority of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) that rely on sourcing their stock from overseas are extremely happy with the easing of the lockdown from most countries in the world. Such businesses have suffered in replenishing their goods due to the global travel restrictions as well as very slow courier delivery services in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

One of the SME Lilongwe based shop, Unique Boutique told Low Profile Malawi that their business is now getting back to normal as their business mainly obtain their stuff from United Kingdom and partially South Africa. They further said that it has been a few tough months to generate revenue and sustain the business. “It’s now a great relief as the air and sea cargo schedules are gradually coming to normal. Previously, there has been huge delays in getting stock from outside countries.

Unique Boutique carries out it’s trade in Lilongwe old town, Kassam Arcade building (opposite 99K shop). They sell authentic UK high street products such as clothes, shoes, cosmetics and various beauty accessories. They offer excellent services and do send items to their customers outside Lilongwe for free of charge.
