Former Flames international Esau ‘Black Mamba’ Kanyenda has said the men’s national football team needs the controversial striker Khuda Muyaba and midfield maestro Mike Mkwate to solve their current problems.
Kanyeda has provided the solution via Twitter. According to the ex hitman, the team lacks a creative supplier and finisher.
His advice follows Flames failure to score against Burkina Faso at Kamuzu Stadium on Monday, in an African Cup of Nations Qualifier. The game ended in a barren draw, a result which helped the team to salvage a vital point.
Black Mamba’s advice has drawn mixed reactions from football followers in the country.
“We really need Mkwate, he is a very productive attacking midfielder, his passes are magical,” said Paul Kamuyambeni
Leon Njala also commented, “Mkwate yes, Khuda no”
Chiona had a different view.”Khuda is a clinical finisher. The coach should include him in the squad and in that way we will be guaranteed of goals.”
Muyaba has been an unused player at his South African club Polokwane City FC on disciplinary grounds. It is believed that Flames coach Meke Mwase snub him due to his behaviour.
The Flames have been struggling to score. In the last four games, they have managed to score a single goal from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, they are fighting for a spot in 2021 African Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon. Malawi is sitting in third position, in group B.
